How to finally sleep well during those hot summer nights!

PicMonkey CollagePictures: *, * (bedding),

*Have fresh crisp sheets
Is it me or do they ACTUALLY feel cooler?

* Spread lavender scents
They will sooth your mind like nothing else.

* Invest in an electric fan
This is key to have some cool air flowing in the bedroom (if you don’t have AC of course) and another tip is to have prepared the room beforehand by shutting the blinds during the day. This way the room will be fresh when it’s time to go to bed. Heard that leaving a wet towel drying throughout the day was very useful. Let me know if you test this!

* Wear some cute PJ’s
When I was younger I used to sleep with a big t-shirt when it was too hot. But you end up having way more fabric on you than you would have with a cute short and top ensemble.
Plus you’ll look amazing while you sleep which is always a plus, right? 😉

* Keep the tech away
It just adds in some heat. Instead of that, opt for a nice book or a magazine, or just note down your thoughts regarding that day and your plans for the day after (that’s what I have been doing – and I have been loving it – see instagram post here)!

* Reduce the lighting
To prepare for the night and start getting relaxed.

* Put on some smooth music
Same spirit – are you relaxed yet?

* Keep your little peaking out your cover sheets!
There you go, feeling the fresh air from the fan…

I think a big part of feeling less hot and overwhelmed during those very warm nights is really to calm down and make your whole system slow down.

So most of all, R-E-L-A-X

My Dream Working Space

>> Play Me <<

Hey 🙂

As my internship (that I was mentionning (here), ended, I thought that it would be nice to share some tips about what makes a work environment nice and productive to me. These are my personal thoughts, don’t hesitate in sharing yours!

N.B: Beautiful natural light, lovely mood boards and amazing furniture.

1. The most important thing to me is LOVING WHAT YOU DO

2. The second most important thing is ENJOY WORKING WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES

If at least one of these conditions is not true for you, unless you really need the job right now, I am telling you – you deserve way better and WILL be so much happier.

Once these conditions are completed, here are some bonuses that make everything special to me:

* Natural Lighting
The office needs to have as much natural lighting as possible. It is essential to see everything very clearly, and getting good energy from the sunlight. Light is important for the room but also for your tech. Meaning, you have to be careful your computer and tablets are not too bright or too dark for you. Everything has to be really well balanced for you to stay focus all along the day.

* Minimal Style
This is personal, but as in interior design in general – I love minimalism. White is THE color for me along with light colored wood and black. I also like very clean and straight lines as far as furniture goes.

* #GoodVibesOnly
As I was saying, enjoying the atmosphere at work is essenital and way more important than all these elements. But I am a huge believer in Feng Shui too. And although I am not an expert, I can definitely feel when the vibe of the room seems a bit off (or maybe it’s just in my head!). Read some more about Feng Shui and offices here.

* Good Furniture
Well OBVIOUSLY. A comfy chair and a wide desk – tall enough for me to cross my legs (does anybody else ever felt annoyed by that lack of space sometimes?)

* Creative Inspiration
I am a very creative person and I genuinely feel bad when I am not fed with creativity. It can come from many different things that I need to be able to see from time to time during the work the day. This can be flowers, pictures, brands, photoshoots, magazines, people among many others!
This is mainly why I love keeping flowers at my desk, they enhance my creativty and contribute to a beautiful desk. But I also enjoy having a inspirational pannel not too far away but at the same time that will not look cluttery and distract me when I need to be focused on other things. That’s why I love the inspo boards on the pictures I selected because they are quite tidy and dont get in your way.

* Miscellaneous
– /!\ Sticky notes lover. Every kind. Keeping the serious ones for serious notes, and the funnier ones to bring some smiles on my colleagues’ faces 🙂
– A cute mug
– Some drawers and nice folders to keep everyhting very tidy. I am a very messy person but when it comes to my work I am quite organized and although I can get messy throughout the day, I won’t leave with my desk looking like a sample of the Revolution.
– Figure out your agenda – paper? Google Calendar? Outlook? Still figuring this out, but personally loved using outlook in the company I used to work at to schedule meetings with my team.
– And of course, a good calendar to always keep track of upcoming projects and mid-long term deadlines.

Now that I don’t work anymore I’m slowly getting ready for back to school season as I will start a new degree.

I still love to get hard-working and creative atmosphere in cool cafés and coworking spaces. If you are in the States, I would highly recommend you checking out WeWork. It is a fast growing company, recognised worldwide by its quality. They’ve got so many great co-working locations! Can’t wait to have them here in Paris!  #PLEASE?!

My long lasting flowers

Hi everyone,

As I am sure the most part of you is experiencing right now, weather is getting colder and sunlight is getting shyer. THIS CALLS for happiness, colors and life into our houses ladies and gentlemen.

I have been getting many plants and flowers that I wether buy, that I am given as gifts or even that I pick yp in my own garden.

If some of you are still struggling with poor lasting in flowers, let me give you a quick tip or two.

#1: CHANGE THEM: Change the water of your flowers regularly.

#2: TREAT THEM: Trim the stems of every single flower diagonally

#3: FEED THEM: If you are not against some chemicals here in there, try to get those little bags of “flowers food” – a type of powder that make them last longer. & hair spray the flowers!  If you are against the use of chemicals I am no expert but I know that you can add to your water a little bit of soda, vinegar, vodka, coins, sugar,

Oh those funky babies.

Hoping you are having a nice week,

Almost one year ago, I discovered this Ted Talk that absolutely amazed me.

Everything she says is so true and helpful.

I highly recommend watching it for the 1st, 2nd or 1000th time.

3 things I have always kept in mind since the first time I watched it:

Now go rock your world. 😉

Today’s Song!

Hi guys!

I was strolling on bloglovin (completely obsessed – my ritual every night!) and find this very cool article on I definitely recommend that you check it out because it has some amazing posts.

I love that new concept of shelves decorating your rooms and not only have a practical end. I agree with that perspective.

I kept these two pictures from her site because I found them really cute:

Now talking about serious stuff! As you may know I’m doing the decoration of my bedroom. You may knw from my previous posts that I absolutely love white bedrooms but I think it is nice and girly to have some bright touches (see this post).

SO, I thinks I would put on those shelves, an R like the D you can see on the pic. I would put, a vase with some nice flowers as well, some cute books and fancy magazine, souvenirs from my trips, and some vintage cute objects. I may add a some pictures and inspiring quotes in nice frames.

What would you put on your cute shelves? Share the inpiration!

An Amazing New York Mag Cover

I’ll add some ideas to this post by
As I was reading the newspaper today (Diario Economico, Portugal), I found out this article about NY. 7 Lessons from NY: “The “Big Apple” inspires us with 7 lessons: simplifying complex situations, promote diversity and an organized chaos (referring here to how organized the mass population and the huge surface are), harmonize work and fun, respect history in order to construct the future, bet on well balanced wages and cultural grow, create a good atmosphere to work and finally, take opportunities from crisis in order to regenerate and evolve.” RSVJ

A Connoisseur of Life

The latest cover of New York Magazine is making the rounds in the blog-o-sphere, but just in case you haven’t seen it, its an AMAZING photo showing the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in New York. Besides the masthead, small text “The City and the Storm” grace the cover.

I find the photo is extremely powerful and jaw-dropping because it invokes emotion and shock. Although the east coast knew in advance of the oncoming storm, the devastation was not deterred, only minimized.

And here’s the story about the photographer and what it took to get the shot.
