Week Wrap Up

Hello everyone,

I thought I would share some more personal things on the blog and sharing with you the highlight of my week. I would love for you to share them as well in the comments this way we can all learn from eachother and discover new things all around the world.

As I’m appartment hunting in Paris, I have plenty of time to wander around the city and explore coffeshops, stores, exhibs, among many others.

1) A very exciting discovery was Artazart. If you are not familiar, Artazart is an amazing design bookstore. They have a huge selection of any type of design book you would be looking for, some are more graphic, some more intellectual. Some are amazing coffee table books, others are great tools to start creating (wether it is a company, a interior space, an art collection, a diy, you name it!)

And if these lines weren’t covincing enough I would suggest you to check out the tripadvisor reviews this store has. And trust me, these reviews are well deserved.

Here are some book that I stumbled upon and loved (some are only in French sorry):

And THIS, how cool is it? First notebook made out of stone. What?!! ❤

2) Exhib : L’Amérique des Kennedy – “Kennedy’s America”

This was a lovely exhib, the gallery is absolutely gorgeous and I got to learn many new things especially about Robert Kennedy and the whole family.

3) White Nail Polish + White Loafers

Let me know if this is something you would like to see more often! And please, let me know what are YOUR highlights of the week. 🙂

My Dream Working Space

>> Play Me <<

Hey 🙂

As my internship (that I was mentionning (here), ended, I thought that it would be nice to share some tips about what makes a work environment nice and productive to me. These are my personal thoughts, don’t hesitate in sharing yours!

N.B: Beautiful natural light, lovely mood boards and amazing furniture.

1. The most important thing to me is LOVING WHAT YOU DO

2. The second most important thing is ENJOY WORKING WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES

If at least one of these conditions is not true for you, unless you really need the job right now, I am telling you – you deserve way better and WILL be so much happier.

Once these conditions are completed, here are some bonuses that make everything special to me:

* Natural Lighting
The office needs to have as much natural lighting as possible. It is essential to see everything very clearly, and getting good energy from the sunlight. Light is important for the room but also for your tech. Meaning, you have to be careful your computer and tablets are not too bright or too dark for you. Everything has to be really well balanced for you to stay focus all along the day.

* Minimal Style
This is personal, but as in interior design in general – I love minimalism. White is THE color for me along with light colored wood and black. I also like very clean and straight lines as far as furniture goes.

* #GoodVibesOnly
As I was saying, enjoying the atmosphere at work is essenital and way more important than all these elements. But I am a huge believer in Feng Shui too. And although I am not an expert, I can definitely feel when the vibe of the room seems a bit off (or maybe it’s just in my head!). Read some more about Feng Shui and offices here.

* Good Furniture
Well OBVIOUSLY. A comfy chair and a wide desk – tall enough for me to cross my legs (does anybody else ever felt annoyed by that lack of space sometimes?)

* Creative Inspiration
I am a very creative person and I genuinely feel bad when I am not fed with creativity. It can come from many different things that I need to be able to see from time to time during the work the day. This can be flowers, pictures, brands, photoshoots, magazines, people among many others!
This is mainly why I love keeping flowers at my desk, they enhance my creativty and contribute to a beautiful desk. But I also enjoy having a inspirational pannel not too far away but at the same time that will not look cluttery and distract me when I need to be focused on other things. That’s why I love the inspo boards on the pictures I selected because they are quite tidy and dont get in your way.

* Miscellaneous
– /!\ Sticky notes lover. Every kind. Keeping the serious ones for serious notes, and the funnier ones to bring some smiles on my colleagues’ faces 🙂
– A cute mug
– Some drawers and nice folders to keep everyhting very tidy. I am a very messy person but when it comes to my work I am quite organized and although I can get messy throughout the day, I won’t leave with my desk looking like a sample of the Revolution.
– Figure out your agenda – paper? Google Calendar? Outlook? Still figuring this out, but personally loved using outlook in the company I used to work at to schedule meetings with my team.
– And of course, a good calendar to always keep track of upcoming projects and mid-long term deadlines.

Now that I don’t work anymore I’m slowly getting ready for back to school season as I will start a new degree.

I still love to get hard-working and creative atmosphere in cool cafés and coworking spaces. If you are in the States, I would highly recommend you checking out WeWork. It is a fast growing company, recognised worldwide by its quality. They’ve got so many great co-working locations! Can’t wait to have them here in Paris!  #PLEASE?!

POWER PLAYLIST

IMAGE

Dear All,

As you may remember from my previous post, I recently started an internship (hence the lack of posting – which I’m really sorry about and will try my best to change).

I really enjoy what I am currently doing but as it always happens, as much as you love what you are doing, somedays are just NO-days. You’re tired, something went wrong etc.

I have many little SOS things to do in case the day fails (which I could write about, let me knwo if that is something you would like to read about) and one of them is really listening to music and to the one kind that gives me some energy and strength thansk to its beat or lyrics.

Here are some of the songs that I have been listening essentially last month and that were exactly what I needed for some extra energy.

1. Uptown Funk – Bruno Mars

2. Locked Out Of Heaven – Bruno Mars

3. Inner Ninja – Classified

4. Tough Love – Christina Aguilera

5. What Makes a Good Man – The Heavy

6. Shape the World – Tim McNorris

7. Back in the Days – Splendid

What do you think?

I hope you are all doing well and that this playlist will inspire you 😉

Cheers,

Vogue Fashion Night Out Paris 2014

Last Tuesday, I went to the Vogue Fashion Night Out  in Paris (#VFNO) for the very first time. I was there with a friend of mine and we had a blast!

Basicaly a few buzzing streets full of designers shops and studios closed their doors to the big public and became “invitation only” spots. The streets were very busy an full of people with great sense of style – of course the more excentric ones were there as well… but I do like them!

In order to show their new collection each brand had his own activities and surprises to entertain their customers: drinks, food (and you know how creative they can get with their mini bagels and all that jazz.. oh my!), photobooths, nailart, RODEO, you name it!

Overall we had an amazing time and it was wonderful to be able to network and meet new people.

We went to many stores but I must say I particularly loved our time spent at Ralph Lauren. Their collection is just TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. I wanted to buy every single item there, whether they were for women, men, and children. And I just loved the whole exeprience, the staff was wonderful, all their drinks were delicious and that jazzy background… Oh yes please.

During that night, I also had the opportunity of meeting the wonderful Ines from frenchfashiontouch.com and I highly recommend you check out her blog and instagram!

Introducing LEAF.tv

Dear all,

For those of you who are into creative content lifestyle related and who do not know leaf.tv yet, let me introduce you to your next favorite website and youtube channel. This websites is a bowl of inspiration for anything “living, eating, and fashion” related.

The creators are two trendy ladies, very influential on the web thanks to their blogs and websites.

Their content is amazing and unique, but to me the key element of differentiation is their short very well filmed and edited videos. These clips capture close shots, they last 1 to 3 minutes, and are followed by a soft and cool background music.

One thing is sure, you will watch one and will not resist watching other 2/3 of them.

For the sake of illustration I will share here one of my favorite clips for each section.

Eating:

(Personally I would skip the bacon here)

Fashion:

Keep up with the great job Leaf.tv!
