McGregor Afterwork Party

Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to the Mcgregor afterwork party in Paris, for the launching of their first women collection in France.

The event was absolutely divine: DJ Mayah Levels @mayahlevels , was there to rock our world – doing a perfect job mixing some of my dearest commercial tunes with a hint of hip hop, Champagne was bubbling in our glasses, miniature cupcakes were the most adorable (and delicious!) thing ever, and those candy buckets just made my life complete at that precise moment.

There were two different ateliers, one for having your manicure done, another one to take amazing pictures.

Now let’s talk more about their collection. As some of you may know already McGregor is a brand with strong Scottish heritage that we can particularly feel through the plaid that appear in their collections. However they have an important diversity in their collection some lines are more focused towards sportswear, other ones are more casual and you can also find a very fine luxurious line. I invite you to check them out here to discover the brand if you don’t love it already.

I recorded a tiny bit of the event to share with you and this way you could feel the atmosphere a bit better. If anyone in the video does not want to appear, please let me know and I will immediately take it down.

I also had the opportunity of meeting a wonderful blogger Delphine that took some amazing shots at this party. Say hi @ dustylemadame.com !

This post was very different for me so let me know if you liked it and if you would like to see more of these.

Vogue Fashion Night Out Paris 2014

Last Tuesday, I went to the Vogue Fashion Night Out  in Paris (#VFNO) for the very first time. I was there with a friend of mine and we had a blast!

Basicaly a few buzzing streets full of designers shops and studios closed their doors to the big public and became “invitation only” spots. The streets were very busy an full of people with great sense of style – of course the more excentric ones were there as well… but I do like them!

In order to show their new collection each brand had his own activities and surprises to entertain their customers: drinks, food (and you know how creative they can get with their mini bagels and all that jazz.. oh my!), photobooths, nailart, RODEO, you name it!

Overall we had an amazing time and it was wonderful to be able to network and meet new people.

We went to many stores but I must say I particularly loved our time spent at Ralph Lauren. Their collection is just TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. I wanted to buy every single item there, whether they were for women, men, and children. And I just loved the whole exeprience, the staff was wonderful, all their drinks were delicious and that jazzy background… Oh yes please.

During that night, I also had the opportunity of meeting the wonderful Ines from frenchfashiontouch.com and I highly recommend you check out her blog and instagram!

PARIS DESIGN WEEK 2014

Paris-Design-Week-2014

As some of you may know already, I am coming back to Paris where I grew up, in order to continue my studies in International Business.

This city may have some down sides, but one cannot deny that everything happens in Paris (or almost!). So from now on, many reviews and posts will be about French brands, restaurants, exhibitions, hiddens places, among many others.

Last weekend, I was at the Paris Design Week which happens once a year and aims to bring a broader audience to different designers, their work, studios, workshops, but also to secret bars and restaurants.

Unfortunetely I was outside of the country and only came back the last day of the Design Week. I went to the Cité de la Mode et du Design (City of Fashion and Design) and saw a very nice exhibition full of very talented creators.

All pieces were gorgeous and very interesting but I have to confess I had two main crushes:

TOUTALENVERS by Gregory Saraceni – Loved how original this was. Basically his whole collection is about upside down cups, mugs, plates, that you can drink/eat in.  I was so puzzled when I first looked at his work! This is pure genius!

ECHOES by Charlotte Juillard – Let’s not even talk about the quality of these speakers that looked more than perfect. Now should we say something about this sleek design? I don’t even think so. White ceramic and leather details?. Perfection.

Shout out to these wonderful artists and all the others that were presenting their work there and who have done an amazing job.

Also, I loved how the whole event was organized. You could whether follow a map and detailed circuits with all the details you needed, or just go your way.

In any case some of these spots were temporarily open for the Design week but others are just nice addresses to keep in mind to wander around!

I really hope you enjoyed this kind of more “in the field” post.

I have more of these planned with more pictures that I personally took.

Let me know what you would like to see next!
