Art Gallery: Hotel Room by Vanya Milicevic

Hi,

You know sometimes, I hang out on Pinterest and stumble upon such nice boards, that I think they could be an art gallery.

The one I want to introduce you to today, was created by Vanya Milicevic (and you can explore her whole account – it is pretty perfect)

I found this board so interesting. She called it Hotel Room and gathered, well, hotel/bedroom pictures. What I thought was very interesting about the collection is that you could see the different atmospheres that one can feel while in a hotel room. I gathered my three favorite ones which are what I call, the Smart Moments (staying in your room to get ready for a meeting, read, study, work), the Cosy Moments (hanging out with your friends, enjoy a relaxing bath, laying down, wearing your most comfortable pj’s and jump onto a fresh made bed) and finally the more Sexy Moments (no explanation needed).

Videography: Jake Terrey

Hi,

Today I wanted to share with you the work of Jake Terrey, an amazing photographer that has work with many artists and brands such as Vogue Australia.

I first discovered his job with this amazing Miranda Kerr videography (or motion photography as he calls it in his website).

Videography:  the art of taking pictures with a videocamera.

I think it is an incredible form of art. In fact it captures a certain emotion that does not come through pictures but that does comes along with the effort of posing for a picture. Very interesting and beautiful.

Plus his work is very delicate and trendy which I absolutely love.

Cheers to him.

Cheers to you,

Week Wrap Up

Hello everyone,

I thought I would share some more personal things on the blog and sharing with you the highlight of my week. I would love for you to share them as well in the comments this way we can all learn from eachother and discover new things all around the world.

As I’m appartment hunting in Paris, I have plenty of time to wander around the city and explore coffeshops, stores, exhibs, among many others.

1) A very exciting discovery was Artazart. If you are not familiar, Artazart is an amazing design bookstore. They have a huge selection of any type of design book you would be looking for, some are more graphic, some more intellectual. Some are amazing coffee table books, others are great tools to start creating (wether it is a company, a interior space, an art collection, a diy, you name it!)

And if these lines weren’t covincing enough I would suggest you to check out the tripadvisor reviews this store has. And trust me, these reviews are well deserved.

Here are some book that I stumbled upon and loved (some are only in French sorry):

And THIS, how cool is it? First notebook made out of stone. What?!! ❤

2) Exhib : L’Amérique des Kennedy – “Kennedy’s America”

This was a lovely exhib, the gallery is absolutely gorgeous and I got to learn many new things especially about Robert Kennedy and the whole family.

3) White Nail Polish + White Loafers

Let me know if this is something you would like to see more often! And please, let me know what are YOUR highlights of the week. 🙂

Amazing Discoveries #FOOD

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I stumbled upon this amazing video with some great tips for food photography. I loved the fact that it really got into details explaining the different options of a DSLR (I have very few knowledge about that) but also the best tips for pictures taken with phones!

But the best part was definitely the fact that I got introduced to Top With Cinnamon – an amzing food blog that I am sure many of you know already. Izy Hossack seems so nice and down to Earth and she is truly talented.

I highly recommend you to stop over her blog if you’ve never been there and to take a look at this amazing promotion video for her recent book (how cool is that?).

Congrats Izy and a very happy weekend to you all!

PARIS DESIGN WEEK 2014

Paris-Design-Week-2014

As some of you may know already, I am coming back to Paris where I grew up, in order to continue my studies in International Business.

This city may have some down sides, but one cannot deny that everything happens in Paris (or almost!). So from now on, many reviews and posts will be about French brands, restaurants, exhibitions, hiddens places, among many others.

Last weekend, I was at the Paris Design Week which happens once a year and aims to bring a broader audience to different designers, their work, studios, workshops, but also to secret bars and restaurants.

Unfortunetely I was outside of the country and only came back the last day of the Design Week. I went to the Cité de la Mode et du Design (City of Fashion and Design) and saw a very nice exhibition full of very talented creators.

All pieces were gorgeous and very interesting but I have to confess I had two main crushes:

TOUTALENVERS by Gregory Saraceni – Loved how original this was. Basically his whole collection is about upside down cups, mugs, plates, that you can drink/eat in.  I was so puzzled when I first looked at his work! This is pure genius!

ECHOES by Charlotte Juillard – Let’s not even talk about the quality of these speakers that looked more than perfect. Now should we say something about this sleek design? I don’t even think so. White ceramic and leather details?. Perfection.

Shout out to these wonderful artists and all the others that were presenting their work there and who have done an amazing job.

Also, I loved how the whole event was organized. You could whether follow a map and detailed circuits with all the details you needed, or just go your way.

In any case some of these spots were temporarily open for the Design week but others are just nice addresses to keep in mind to wander around!

I really hope you enjoyed this kind of more “in the field” post.

I have more of these planned with more pictures that I personally took.

Let me know what you would like to see next!
